Member for Gembrook Brad Battin will join a team of pollies walking 100 kilometres this weekend for the Oxfam Trailwalker.
The Oxfam Trailwalker raises money for Oxfam’s work around the world in a range of areas, from water and sanitation to education and health
The ‘Pollie Trailwalker’ team has so far raised $2,945, putting it in the lead of the Government, Community, Defence and Emergency Services category.
The group will start the walk from Jells Park in Wheelers Hill on the morning of Friday 20 April at 10am, and finish at Wesburn Park, Wesburn, about 35 hours later.
“Walking 100 kilometres through the beautiful Dandenong Ranges is a great way to raise money for Oxfam, who do important work fighting poverty both here and overseas,” Mr Battin said.
“I am looking forward to the challenge.”
Also in the Pollie Trailwalker team are David Southwick, Member for Caulfield, Nick Wakeling, Member for Ferntree Gully, and Parliament staff member David Robertson.
