$5.2 million to rebuild Emerald Secondary College classrooms and create a STEM Centre
An elected Liberal Nationals Government will provide $5.2 million to rebuild classrooms and create a state of the art STEM Centre at Emerald Secondary College.
This funding will fix the neglect left by Daniel Andrews and his Education Minister, James Merlino who have left the school’s maths and science rooms in disrepair.
The Andrews Labor Government has ignored the school’s pleas for new facilities, leaving the teachers and students in hazardous conditions with parts of the school’s building falling on students.
Only the Liberal Nationals recognise students do not deserve their learning environments to be falling down around them.
We have listened to the school community and we will rebuild the College’s deteriorated classrooms.
Comments attributable to Member for Gembrook, Brad Battin:
“Emerald Secondary College has an outstanding reputation for quality education.
“This new STEM Centre will only expand the learning opportunities for students in the Hills, especially with science and maths.
“Only a Liberal Nationals Government will rebuild the school’s maths and science classrooms giving the students and staff of Emerald Secondary a safe and exciting learning environment.”
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Education, Tim Smith:
“Emerald Secondary College’s students have achieved amazing results over the past few years despite the appalling state of the school’s facilities.
“It’s disappointing Daniel Andrews and his Education Minister have left the school’s building in the unsafe conditions they are today and continue to ignore the Principal’s and student’s pleas.”
