Andrew Katos and the Liberals to upgrade Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club
If elected to Government in November, the Liberals will contribute an additional $500,000 towards the rebuild of Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club.
Jan Juc beach is one of the most dangerous beaches in Victoria and the present club rooms are inadequate and falling apart. This grant will provide modern facilities for local volunteers to continue saving lives.
The Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club is a 100% volunteer run organisation and depends entirely on fundraising and donations to keep lifesavers on the beach.
The Liberal Nationals look forward in seeing the club grow and that these updated facilities will continue to develop the already strong culture of the club and strengthen their proud volunteer community service in the region.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Brad Battin MP:
“Modern facilities are vital to the training and ability of life savers to protect families at the beach.
This announcement supports the Liberal Nationals’ plan to make Victorian beaches safer with new drone technology, improved facilities for Life Saving Victoria and respecting our local volunteers.
Only a Matthew Guy Government will deliver the much needed facilities for our life saving volunteers and support those who protect us.”
Comments attributable to Member for South Barwon & Shadow Assistant Minister for Geelong, Andrew Katos:
“Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club has made a huge contribution to participation in the local community and it’s only fair that they receive the support they deserve.
This upgrade will continue to improve access for the club members, volunteers and the community I am beyond proud to have advocated for this result.
As the local Member of Parliament, I am proud to be continually fighting for our grassroots clubs – and will continue to deliver for them.”
