Pakenham Line the worst metropolitan train line in Melbourne.
Commuters on the Pakenham Line have a right to be frustrated with their daily commute to and from work.
February 2019 metropolitan rail performance data shows that Daniel Andrews and the Labor Government have failed the south-east with the Pakenham line providing the worst service in the state.
259 train services were either cancelled, cut short, bypassed or skipped on the line just during the month of February.
No shows across the metropolitan train lines were up 60% cent higher than when the Andrews Government came into government in November 2014.
Despite Labor’s promise to abolish skipped services, frustrated commuters are still being left stranded on the platform as their train passes by – there have been 802 skipped services state-wide, with 29 skipped services just in February.
These figures come ahead of expected major commuter disruptions next week causing more headaches for Pakenham commuters.
(*Note the Cancellations, Delays and Skipped Stations do not include any trains for planned stoppages or planned rail works.)
Comments attributed to Liberal State Member for Gembrook Brad Battin MP:
“Commuters in the South-East deserve to receive the reliable, safe and timely public transport service they pay for.”
“Daniel Andrews and the Labor Government promised to abolish skipped services, and they have simply failed.”
“It was revealed last week that Daniel Andrews is spending $240,000 a day advertising he is delivering for all Victorians, he should use this money to make the Pakenham line reliable.”
