Andrews Government sides with union mates over women in our emergency services
Daniel Andrews and Labor are not serious about increasing female participation in our emergency services.
While Labor talks a good game about increase diversity in the fire services, the proportion of front-line female fire fighters remains at a paltry 4%.
Daniel Andrews has signed off on an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement with his mates at the UFU which will prevent part-time parents returning to the front-line.
The Andrews Labor Government has also failed to deliver meaningful change within Victoria Police, where the number of female recruits has remained unimproved at 32% by Labor’s advertising blitz.
It is now clear to Victorians that Daniel Andrews’ drive to get more women into emergency services was nothing more than a political media stunt with no positive outcome.
Daniel Andrews and Labor can show they are serious about increasing diversity by standing up to the union and providing flexibility for mothers to return to the front-line.
