Liberal Nationals support presumptive rights legislation
The Liberal Nationals today once again confirm our support for presumptive rights legislation for firefighters.
Presumptive rights legislation will ensure that firefighters who are diagnosed with cancer due to their service will be eligible to receive compensation.
In February this year the Andrews Labor Government refused to support a standalone presumptive rights bill introduced into Parliament by the Liberal Nationals.
This legislation would guarantee presumptive rights for all firefighters, career and volunteer, affected by cancer.
The Liberal Nationals stand by our commitment to support a standalone presumptive rights legislation for all firefighters and oppose the Andrews Labor Government’s plan to combine presumptive rights legislation with the Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) bill that will tear apart the CFA.
