Beaconsfield commuters left yet again in the cold.

Date

Today’s state budget delivered by Daniel Andrews has again failed to include the much-needed upgrade of Beaconsfield Railway Station, continuing to leave Beaconsfield commuters out in the cold.

The upgrade committed by Brad Battin MP and the Liberals in 2018 included additional shelter and toilet facilities, four years on this essential upgrade is still being ignored by Labor.

Labor refuse to see how additional shelter is urgently needed for people living with a disability waiting to embark and disembark the train.

Residents were hoping the eighth state budget from the Andrews Labor Government before the November State Election would include the much-needed upgrade; however, they are left disappointed again.

Daniel Andrews must stop ignoring the community of Beaconsfield, especially those living with a disability, and provide additional shelter and toilet facilities immediately.

Quotes attributable to Brad Battin MP – Local Liberal State Member of Parliament

“How much longer will residents have to wait to get shelter and facilities at Beaconsfield Railway Station from the Andrews Labor Government?”

“The fact Labor has ignored this vital upgrade again highlights the consequences residents will face under another term of the Andrews Labor Government. They have racked up billions of dollars in major project cost blowouts that could have funded these projects.”

“Labor has run out of money and are coming after yours to pay their debt with the introduction of 41 new taxes since they were elected.”

“If a Labor Member of Parliament actually lived in Casey or Cardinia, they would understand why we need urgent upgrades like the Beaconsfield Railway Station. Locals are sick of politicians who don’t live in or understand our local area.”
