Family violence soars in Cardinia

Today’s crime figures have revealed a concerning rise in family violence in Cardinia dramatically increasing by 17.8% in the past 12 months.

Residents between the age of 25-34 were most affected by family violence, and a continuing and concerning trend of more than double the number of female victims than males.

These worrying numbers come days after the serious and shocking allegations were made against the Andrews Labor Government use of public office for Labor Party activities yet again.

Today’s family violence figures highlight the shocking consequences of six chaotic years of an Andrews Labor Government more focused on branch stacking and corruption than protecting families.

Quotes contributableto Brad Battin MP Liberal Member for Gembrook:

“17.8% rise in family violence is a very alarmingstatisticand one that must be addressed by the Andrews Government immediately”.

“Cardinia has been working hard over the past few years to help combat family violence within their local community. It is an absolute disgrace the Labor Government have been too busy with internal Labor Party fighting to provide adequate resources in Cardinia to successfully assist in the community’s fight.”

“With recent media reports and language of an Andrews Government Minister threatening, abusing and swearing about a female colleague, it is no wonder Daniel Andrews has failed to address this major issue.”
