Daniel Andrews has doubled down on his lie to the Victorian Parliament yesterday over triple-zero response times.
The Premier yesterday told Parliament during Question Time: “ESTA met every one of its monthly benchmarks between 2016 and just before the pandemic.”
This statement is simply not true, with ESTA failing to meet its Ambulance Code One Dispatch benchmarks every year from 2016-17 to 2019-20.
Despite being called out on this misleading statement, Daniel Andrews has refused to apologise or admit triple-zero was failing Victorians for years before COVID-19.
Shadow Minister for Health, Georgie Crozier said the Premier have been caught out trying to cover-up for years of mismanagement.
“No amount of spin can cover up the facts. Between 2016 and 2020, ESTA’s own annual reports showed it failed to deliver on its Code One ambulance dispatch benchmarks.”
“The Premier has lied and has been caught trying to cover-up for years of failings and mismanagement.”
“Daniel Andrews can’t arrogantly re-write history and must correct the record and apologise today.”
“The triple-zero crisis didn’t start with COVID-19. It started years ago because of Labor’s mismanagement and a government who ignored the warnings.”
